Ilyse Spertus

Ilyse Spertus is a committed, deeply concerned advocate who is passionate about the financial, educational and cultural well being of New Rochelle. She believes that together we can accomplish her mission to bring about prosperity and revitalization in our City.

Ilyse has a clear and exciting vision for New Rochelle:

• Attract new businesses to create a vibrant town center
• Generate new revenue for our schools from increased business development
• Lower property and school taxes
• Maintain our roads, parks and historic properties
• Encourage civic participation

Ilyse values and wants to promote transparency and accountability in our government, in this vein she will:

• Be non-partisan
• Cease use of excessive tax incentives to private developers that don’t benefit the financial welfare of city
• Achieve cost-savings
• Dispose of costly lifetime health care benefits for part-time City Council Members
