Meet Ilyse

Ilyse is an established resident of New Rochelle, where she lives with her husband, Andrew, their 7-year old twins, Lillian and Jason and two dogs, Naomi and Hope.

By profession, Ilyse is a clinical psychologist. She was an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology in Psychiatry at Columbia University. There she founded and directed The Columbia Anxiety and Traumatic Stress Program for the NYPD and FBI, which provided thousands of law enforcement personnel with clinical services and outreach after the 9/11 tragedy.

Ilyse has a long-standing commitment to the welfare of veterans. She has worked counseling veterans at the Boston VA and as a lobbyist for veteran’s mental health benefits.  She was asked to provide outreach to soldiers at Fort Hamilton who were either preparing or returning from deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Ilyse enjoys teaching psychology and providing clinical and research supervision to both professionals and students. Ilyse is also a published author on trauma and pain disorders.

She is the PTA Council Representative for the Daniel Webster Magnet School PTA and chairs annually the Scholastic Book Fair. Last year, as a book fair chair, she and her colleagues had one of the most successful book fairs, which raised several thousand dollars to replenish the Daniel Webster Library.

Ilyse served on the board of the League of Women Voters of New Rochelle for several years where she edited their quarterly bulletin. Currently, she is the Vice President of the Huguenot Park Neighborhood Association.
